Nice but both examples were/are FAILED candidates. Try Reagan for the then and Walker/Cruz/Perry for the now.
That’s a false dichotomy. Neither example is fully representative of the GOP either then or now. Fallacy of composition.
The more I think about it, the more absurd the “then/now” thesis is. The GOP was founded by Christian abolitionists!
